The 2011 Christmas Tree sale organised and executed by the Men's Group has been a great success.
The last of 298 trees was sold on Thursday 15 Dec at 6.30 pm.
Father Steve sent the following message:
"Good Morning:
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your time and energy, not to mention countless hours, that went into the huge success of the tree project. Today I write you this message with gratitude for the extraordinary contribution you continue to make to St. James’ Church.
Thank you,
Stephen."
Simon Barnes, Leader of the Men's Group said:
"Hello Gents, we sold our very last Christmas tree at 6:30 tonight (Thurs. Dec.15). Thanks to all who helped make this another banner year!I'm hoping to clean-up the parish yard on Sat. morning around 9-ish. With a little help, we can get the snow-fencing & posts taken down, the lights packed up and the trailer shovelled out. Please join me if you can spare the time.
We could move the stable/manger to a more visible location if Fr. Steve and/or the wardens wish for some authentic ambience.
We also have a parish breakfast on Sunday morning. Food prep starts at 8:00 - eating of food starts at 9:30.
Thanks again for another successful year."
